There
are many issues to be addressed regarding concrete
technology for airfield paving. Concrete airfield
paving specifications differ from reinforced concrete
because of the need to have consistent concrete
that performs well in service with regard to flexure.
Airfield owners are always extremely concerned about
the risks of "Foreign Object Damage" (F.O.D)
to aircraft; thus it places more constraints on
the producer of the concrete pavement.
