There are many issues to be addressed regarding concrete technology for airfield paving. Concrete airfield paving specifications differ from reinforced concrete because of the need to have consistent concrete that performs well in service with regard to flexure. Airfield owners are always extremely concerned about the risks of "Foreign Object Damage" (F.O.D) to aircraft; thus it places more constraints on the producer of the concrete pavement.
